Ghazal Vafabakhsh

Ghazal Vafabakhsh

Instructor - TidalWheel Virginia Beach

Ghazal (which actually sounds like "Gazelle") has been an athlete her entire life. Growing up in Florida, she was a state tennis competitor. While she loved her time on the court, she always looked for other ways to condition and stay fit. Enter, indoor cycling. Her very first indoor cycling class was at her local YMCA, and while the culture of cycling has definitely changed over the years, her absolute love for it has never stopped! A newcomer to the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area, Ghazal was beyond thrilled to find TidalWheel and immediately became an unlimited series holder the minute she completed her first class. Flash forward six months from that day, she is extremely excited to join such an awesome instructing team! She hopes to bring the high-energy, high-quality, and sweat-inducing enthusiasm that's expected into every one of her classes. Ghazal's life motto has always been to "be the very best version of you," and she believes that TidalWheel is the path to get there. Outside of cycling, Ghazal's passions lie in healthcare, cheering on her University of Florida Gators (chomp, chomp!) and spending time with her amazing family!

Aimee Darby

Aimee Darby

Instructor - TidalWheel Virginia Beach

In 2014, after completing a year of chemotherapy and radiation for breast cancer, Aimee decided it was time to make some healthy life style changes.  Some close friends suggested she try TidalWheel and she was hooked!  After a year and a half of spinning almost every day, she found the courage to lead her own classes!  Outside of instructing, Aimee and her husband Aaron have a 3 year old daughter, Eliza.  Aimee also works full time for a Law Enforcement and Military Equipment Manufacturer.  One of her favorite things to do is share her love for TidalWheel with friends and colleagues.  Don't be surprised if you see Aimee hosting some noon team bonding rides with her coworkers!

Matt Timms

Matt Timms

Matt and fitness go together like milk and cereal, which is also his favorite food!  He was born and raised in Virginia Beach and enjoys spending his free time hitting the gym, reading books, and catching a nice matinee sci-fi movie.  When his brother and childhood friend opened a spin studio he figured he would try it out and quickly fell in love with the music and upbeat environment.  Matt recently finished his personal training certification and is looking forward to adding that to his fitness journey.  You are sure to get a good laugh in his class and enjoy some of his favorite music that includes Pitbull and Bruno Mars!

Casey Daniels

Casey has always been active and on the move.  A local native, she graduated from Catholic High School playing a different sport each season and went on to graduate from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science.  It wasn’t hard for her to fall in love with TidalWheel - the music, the lights, the enthusiasm, and the energy of the instructors.  While finishing college, she applied to work part time at TidalWheel and quickly decided it was her time to lead classes from the instructor bike .  Outside of TidalWheel, Casey is a coach for High School girl’s lacrosse at her Alma Mater and lives with her fiancĂ© and dog, Gus.  You are sure to catch Casey  around the studio or up on stage signing and encouraging our riders every step of the way.

Allison Borden

Allison Borden

Instructor - TidalWheel Virginia Beach

Allison is a born and raised Jersey girl!  When her husband left for boot camp, she needed to find something to fill her time.  It was then that she discovered her love of fitness. After years in the car business, she knew the 9-5 just wasn't her thing.  When her husband was stationed in Virginia Beach, she had a hard time finding fun things to do.  Finally, she discovered TidalWheel.  She was instantly hooked and practically begged for the job!  As time went on, Allison made her way up to an instructor and newly promoted Manager.  She loves to share her positive energy with customers in, and out, of the studio!
